Waniger, Marlene Kay (Marriage - 4 June 1960)

 

Miss Marlene Kay Waniger, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Adrien Waniger, rt. 1, Colby, became the bride of Lyle W. Hoffman, Abbotsford, during a marriage ceremony performed at 2 o’clock Saturday afternoon at the Evangelical and Reformed church at Colby. The Rev. V. O. Grosshuesch officiated at the nuptials.

 

Mrs. William Hueck and Mrs. Merlin Bauman sang during the ceremony and Miss Jeanne Schreiber was the organist.

 

The former Miss Waniger wore a floor length dress made of Chantilly lace and tulle designed with a Sabrina neckline outlined with sequins, long sleeves, and a full hoop skirt with tiered ruffles in the back when she was escorted into the church by her father. The cap style headpiece, made of matching lace, and trimmed with pearls, and sequins, was attached to the fingertip veil.

 

Her bridal bouquet contained pink sweetheart roses and stephanotis centered with a white orchid.

 

Miss Karen Waniger, Colby, was maid of honor and Mrs. Lorraine Manthe, Abbotsford, and Miss Sharon Talcott, Wausau, the bridesmaids.

 

They wore ballerina length frocks, the maid of honor in pale yellow, and the bridesmaids in Nile green, made of sheer nylon with matching lace. Seed pearls adorned the matching crowns, which had brief veils. The maid of honor carried a basket of white carnations and Nile green daisies, and the bridesmaids, baskets of white carnations and yellow daisies.

 

Miss Pauline Hoffman was the flower girl.

 

Serving as best man was Kenneth Pollack, Colby. Robert Zazada, Green Bay, and Neil Hoffman, Thiensville, were groomsmen, while Robert Behringer performed the ushering duties.
