Johnson, Edwin Adolph (1 October 1894 - 26 April 1959)

 

Edwin Adolph Johnson, 64, of Greenwood died Sunday afternoon at S. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, where he was taken a week ago.  He had returned April 8 after 10 weeks of treatment at the Veterans Hospital in Minneapolis.

 

Funeral service will be held this (Thursday) afternoon from Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. The Rev. Ira J. Tanner will officiate, and burial will be made in the Greenwood Cemetery.

 

Mr. Johnson was born October 1, 1894, in Blanchardville.  When he was eight years old he came to Greenwood with his parents, Andrew and Ingre Johnson.

 

He was married March 23, 1920, in Chicago to Gertrude Olson.  He was a mason by trade.

 

Surviving are his wife, two sons, Bernard of Rivera, Calif.; and Howard of Whittier, Calif.; two daughters, Mrs. Jake (Ruth) Barr and Mrs. Howard (Shirley) Susa, both of Greenwood; seven grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. George (Anne) Vollrath of Greenwood; and a brother, Henry Johnson of Greenwood.
