Humbird, Wisconsin (30 July 1959)

 

Mr. and Mrs. Dale Dignin and son, Mrs. Laura Dignin and Mr. and Mrs. Manly Stuve were dinner guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Barkley in Eau Claire.

 

A group of friends gathered at the home of Miss Elsie Jahn Friday afternoon to help Marvin Schuld celebrate his birthday.

 

Mrs. Minnie Dickie of Mason City, Ia., was a guest Wednesday and Thursday at the John Bryner and Perle Pickett homes.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Joe Matshee and four children of rural Cadott were visitors Sunday afternoon at the home of her aunt, Mrs. Sam Newton.  Mrs. Thane Joos, Susan, David and Karen of Alma Center joined the group for a visit.

 

Mrs. Cullen Dignin returned Wednesday from Gary, Ind., leaving her mother still in a serious condition.

 

Mrs. Emma Keeler of Beloit visited last week with her brother, John Bryner, and sister, Mrs. Harry Hart.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Laffe spent Sunday afternoon with Mr. and Mrs. Orrin Wold and boys of rural Black River Falls.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Paul Colburn and Mrs. Oscar Hein, who had been visiting in Minneapolis, called at the W. F. Hein home on their way to Gary, Ind.

 

In word received from Mrs. Cole Johnson at Memorial Hospital, Neillsville, she is resting as comfortably as can be expected, can move her arm, and her hip is not so painful.

 

Victor Phillips of Goshen, Ind., and Mrs. Donald Phillips and children, who had visited her people at Cornell, left for their homes Thursday.  Victor visited Mrs. Cora Stanley and other relatives.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Holman and two sons of Chicago were guests Monday of his sister, Mrs. Elmer Duerkop.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Wayland Hardwick of Altoona, Mrs. Elgie Hardwick, and La Marr Hardwick of Kenosha and friend were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Karl Johnson Sunday.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Leon Phillips of Goshen, Ind., visited from Monday until Saturday at the home of Mrs. Cora Stanley and Mrs. Kitty Hein, and at the home of her father, George Fradenburg in Willard, and the Raymond Stuve home here.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Holman, Mary and John of the Tindahl community drove to Rochester, Minn., Sunday to visit a friend in the hospital.
