Baker, David James (30 December 1877 - 24 August 1959)

 

Funeral services will be conducted this (Thursday) afternoon from the Gilbertson Funeral Home in Granton for David James Baker, 81, who died Monday at his farm home on Rt. 1 Granton, in the Town of York. The Rev. Virgil Holmes of Neillsville, will officiate.  Burial will be made in the Windfall Cemetery.

 

Mr. Baker was born December 30, 1877, in New Lisbon, where he received his education.  For the last 52 years he had resided on the farm in York.  His death was attributed to a heart attack.  He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Gertrude Downer and five sisters.

 

Surviving is a son, Donald, of Platteville, a grandchild and two brothers, Ira and Orville, both of Fargo, N. D.

 

Pallbearers will be Otto Schmidtke, Wendell and Jack Crothers, Martin Garbisch, Ray Kammerer, and Lawrence Bartz.
