Buchholz, Mrs. Fred (1 October 1881 - 19 January 1960)

 

Mrs. Fred Buchholz, Sr., 73, Rt. 3, Neillsville, died Tuesday following an illness of several months.  Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. from St. John’s Lutheran church in Christie.  The Rev. H. F. Brauer will officiate, and burial will be made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

 

Mrs. Buchholz was born October 1, 1881, in Germany and came with her parents to the United States in the same year.  The family located on a farm near Merrill.  She received her education there and on November 27, 1897, was married to Frederick Buchholz at Merrill.  In 1918 they came to Clark County and farmed in the Town of Weston, retiring in 1927.

 

She was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Church and its Ladies Aid.

 

She is survived by four children: Fred E. Buchholz, Jr., Mrs. Alma May, and Mrs. Allen (Martha) Gutenberger all of Greenwood; and Mrs. Fred (Hattie) Leonhardt, Abbotsford. Twelve grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren also survive.

 

The Georgas Funeral Home in Neillsville is in charge of funeral arrangements.
