Buehlman, Clarence J. (10 MAY 1895 - 3 FEB 1957)

 

Clarence J. Buehlman, 61, former resident of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), late of Flint, Mich., died Sunday, Feb. 3, 1957 in El Paso, Texas.  Funeral services were held Feb. 9th at Groves & Co. Memorial Chapel, Flint, Rev. Leslie Williams and Rev. Michael Giannuzzi officiating.  Interment was in Sunset Hills Mausoleum.

 

Mr. Buehlman was owner of the Berridge Hotel and manager of the Capitol Hotel at Fling, Mich.  He and his wife, Lillian, were on their way to visit relatives at Long Beach, Calif.  Death was due to a heart attack.

 

He was born in Wisconsin, May 10, 1895, the son of Chris and Ann Buehlman, and spent his boyhood until the age of 15 in Thorp.  He had been in the hotel business since that tiem in Milwaukee, Chicago and Flint, Mich.

 

He married Lillian Hall in Paw Paw, Mich. in Nov. 1940.  Mr. Buehlman was a veteran of World War I, a member of the Unity Church, the B.P.O.E. No. 222, the American Hotel Association, and the Chamber of Commerce.  He owned and operated the Berridge Hotel for the last 17 years and operated the Capitol Hotel for the last 19 years.

 

Surviving him are: wife, Mrs. Lillian Buehlman; 5 sisters, Mrs. Nellie Allen of Long Beach, Calif., Mrs. Phil Harris of Corpus Christie, Texas, Mrs. Clara Bush of Long Beach, Calif., Mrs. Ann Bublitz of Weyauwega, Wis., and Mrs. Martha Kingman of Gilman, Wis.; 2 nieces, Mrs. Renee Bernhardt of Milwaukee, Wis., Sister Mary de Paul of Milwaukee, Wis.; 1 nephew, Rex Bublitz of Weyauwega, Wis.

 

Mrs. Percy Kingman of Gilman, sister of the deceased, who had been on her way to Corpus Christie, Texas, was a Denison, Texas when his death occurred.  She and Mrs. Ross Bublitz are with his wife in Flint at present.
