Mr. and Mrs. Gus Ewen of Richland Center are here visiting their friends.
The streets are lively with men who have returned from the various logging camps.
The repairing at both of the saw mills is nearly completed and they will both start up in a few days.
The village of Stanley and its environs within a radius of two miles has been free from diphtheria for the last two months.
The smoke stacks of the N. W. L. Co.’s mill were last week furnished with fire screens, the screen which surmounts the largest stack is about twelve feet in diameter and the great altitude at which the men worked as they mounted the screens caused a thrilling spectacle.
A number of local sports have formed themselves into a boating and fishing club and have built a commodious frame club house at Brown Lake with the intention of obviating the necessity of camping in a pool of water in wet weather or of being stung to death by mosquitoes in dry weather, as they (A portion of this is cut off)
