Mengel, Dalores June (Marriage - 9 April 1960)

 

Miss Dalores June Mengel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Mengel of Owen, became the bride of Ray Howard Newman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Newman of Owen, at the Nazareth Lutheran Church in Withee Saturday, April 9.  The double ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. Mr. Knutson.

 

The bride wore a blue suit with white accessories.  She carried a bouquet of roses and lilies-of-the-valley. Flowers at the home and at the church were Easter Lilies.

 

The matron of honor was the bride’s sister, Mrs. Floyd Clarkson of Medford, and the bridesmaid, also a sister, was Sandra Mengel of Owen.

 

Best man was Floyd C. Clarkson of Medford, brother-in-law of the bride.

 

Ushers were Richard and Roger Newman, brothers of the groom.

 

Organ music was played by Louise Hansen and songs were sung by Mrs. Knutson.

 

A  reception was given at the home of the bride’s parents for about 25 immediate relatives.

 

Out of town relatives attending were: Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Clarkson of Medford; Albert Neverman and Miss Darlene Boodwin of Two Rivers; Mr. and Mrs. Buford Nickelson of Eau Claire; and Robert Newman of Gilman.

 

The bride was educated at the Wisconsin School for the Deaf at Eau Claire and at Gelanon.  The groom attended grade school and high school, and is employed in Two Rivers.

 

The young couple will make their home in Two Rivers.
