Mrs. Anna Davel, 73, dyed at her home here at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3. She had suffered a stroke that morning.

 

Mrs. Davel, the former Anna Christiansen, was born at Merrill, Ia., on Feb. 22, 1876. Coming to the vicinity of Loyal when a child, she received her education in the Mack school. On Sept. 2, 1903, she was married at Neillsville to Charles F. Davel. Mr. Davel died on Feb, 21 of this year.

 

Mrs. Davel was in the millinery business in Loyal for about 20 years and since has been active as a dress maker in which profession she was engaged until the time of her death.

 

Mrs. Davel was a member of the Methodist church and Hope camp No. 819 Royal Neighbors of America.

 

Surviving are a son, Harold, of Waukesha, a daughter, Mrs. Herbert (Anita) Fenner, of Loyal; four grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; two brothers, Ed and Albert Christiansen of Marshfield and a sister, Mrs. Guy (Sarah) Cole of Marshfield.

 

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Loyal Methodist church, the Rev. Lee Holmes officiated. Interment was in the Loyal cemetery.

 

Mrs. Ray Prior and Mrs. Calvin Prior "Nearer My God to Thee" and "Under His Wings,: with Miss Donna Mae Gotter accompanying at the organ.

 

Pallbearers were Otto Stock, Orin Trindal, Ruel Stevens, Henry Rottjer, Herbert White, and Richard Gotter. In charge of the flowers wee Mrs. Trindal, Mrs. Rottjer, Mrs. Stevens and Mrs. White.

 

Members of Hope camp R. N. A. attended the funeral in a body.

 

Those from out of town attending were Mr. and Mrs. Harold Davel of Waukesha, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Christiansen,Mr, and Mrs. Albert Christiansen, Mr. and Mrs. Guy Cole, Mr. and Mrs. Harley Christiansen, Mrs. Harry Hansen and Forrest Cole all of Marshfield; Mrs. Martha Starr of St. Paul, Roy Marsh of Wausau, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Wagner of Edgar, Mr. and Mrs.  John Davel of Spencer, and Mr. and Mrs. George Davel of ?.

 

The Tribune extends to the survivors its sympathy in their loss.
