Stanek, Frances A. (24 SEP 1957)

Robert C. Doege, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Doege, Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), claimed Frances Ann Stanek, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Stanek, Athens, as his bride, in a nuptial ceremony in St. Anthony’s Church, Athens, Sept. 24, 1957, Rev. Lemke officiating.

The bride’s sister, Edna Stanek, served as maid of honor.  Bridesmaids were Grace Doege, sister of the groom, Darlene Frese, Milwaukee, and Alice Ponkratz, Auburndale, friends of the bride.

All wore identical gowns of lace over taffeta made strapless with floor length ruffled skirts topped with matching boleros.  The maid of honor was dressed in white and the bridesmaids in blue.  Their crowns were trimmed with sequins, pearls and small veils.  They carried bouquets of pink roses tied with pink ribbons and wore matching necklaces and earrings, gifts of the bride.

The flower girl, Sharon Siemek of Gilman, niece of the groom, wore white.  A bodice and a floor length ruffled net skirt over satin.  Her flowers were white roses tied with white ribbon.

The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father, wore a lace bodice with long sleeves and Queen Anne collar.  The skirt had alternating ruffles of lace and tulle over taffeta.

Her elbow length veil was held in place by a crown of pearls and sequins.

She carried a bouquet of white roses, centered with a purple throated orchid tied with white streamers.

John Turenne of Thorp was best man.

Groomsmen were Fred Barth, Vernon Noah and Lloyd Horn, all of Greenwood.

Corsages of carnations adorned the dresses of the mothers.  Mrs. Stanek wore blue lace over taffeta.  Mrs. Doege was in gray brocaded taffeta.

A reception was held at the bride’s home following the ceremony.  Dancing was enjoyed that evening at the Colby Park.

After a honeymoon in northern Wisconsin the happy couple will be at home to friends at Greenwood, Wis., where the groom is a cheese maker.

Guests present were from Greenwood, Owen, Gilman, Curtiss, Withee, Thorp, Auburndale, Milwaukee and New York.
