Schaefer, Arlene Joyce (Marriage - 3 September 1960)

Gowned in a floor length bridal dress of Chantilly lace tulle, styled with long sleeves, a sequin trimmed Sabrina neckline and a full skirt of lace over taffeta, Miss Arlene Joyce Schaefer approached the altar of Trinity Lutheran Church, Loyal, on the arm of her father, Arthur Schaefer, Spencer, for her marriage to Roger Lee, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wenzel Lee, Chili.  She carried a shower bouquet of red roses and swansonia, centered with white carnations.

For her attendants she chose Miss Carol Fensome of Minneapolis, Minn., as maid-of-honor, and Mrs. Donald Schmidtke of Spencer and Mrs. Delbert Sloniker of Stetsonville as bridesmaids.

They wore ballerina-length gowns or imported silk organza over taffeta, with scoop neckline and draped bodice. Their flowers were nosegays of Mayday roses with ribbons to match their gown, shrimp for the maid-of-honor and turquoise for the bridesmaids.

The groom’s bestman was Eldon Lee of Chili, and groomsmen were Donald Schmidtke and Delbert Sloniker.  Ushers were James Lee of Spencer, cousin of the groom, and Norbert Lee of Chili, brother of the groom.  Bonnie Wienke of West Bend was flower girl, and Gary Harriman of Chili was ringbearer.

The Rev. V. A. Ganz officiated at the 1:30 p.m. nuptial rites September 3.  Karen Haselow sang, "The Voice that Breathed Over Eden," "Today, O Lord" and "The Lord’s Prayer."  Miss Jean Noeldner was organist.

Following the wedding, a reception was given in the church hall at 4:15 p.m. and supper was served to close relatives at 6:30.  A dance was given at the Silver Dome Ballroom, Neillsville.

The groom is a graduate of Granton High School, and Wisconsin Institute of Technology, at Platteville.  He is a Vocational Agriculture teacher.  The bride is a graduate of Loyal High School and has been employed in Marshfield. They will live in Luxemburg.
