Loyal, Wisconsin (15 September 1960)

 

The Past Matrons of Iris Chapter O. E. S. met Wednesday afternoon with Mrs. Roy Hales for the first meeting since their summer recess.  After the business session games were played and prizes were awarded to Mrs. Perry Volk, Mrs. Henry Rottjer and Mrs. O. W. Trindal.  The hostess served lunch.

 

Michael McNeely, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray McNeely, and Edward Weyer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Weyer, have entered Holy Cross seminary, La Crosse.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Donald Anderson of Chicago visited last weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Larson.  Mrs. Larson is a sister of Mr. Anderson.

 

Roy Hales left Friday for Manawa and from there accompanied his son, Myrle to Chicago.  He returned Sunday night.

 

A farewell party was given Mr. and Mrs. Jack DuBrava after the prayer meeting Wednesday evening at the Free Methodist parsonage. A purse was presented to them.  Mr. and Mrs. Jack DuBrava and daughter, Sharon, left early Sunday morning for North Chili, N. Y., where Jack was to enter Robert Wesleyan College.

 

John DuBrava entertained his children at an 8 o’clock dinner at the hotel in Owen, Saturday evening. Those attending were Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Orsburn of Greenwood, Mr. and Mrs. Larry DuBrava, Mr. and Mrs. Jack DuBrava and Dale DuBrava.

 

Orville Roder, Tom Brussow, and Bill Erickson left Sunday for Madison, where they entered the university.

 

Seven members of the Loyal Methodist Church attended a men’s retreat at Pine Lake Saturday night and Sunday.  They were: Ray Prior, Bob Prior, Byron Zepplin, Clyde Grambsch, Celen Gotter, J. R. Thomas, and Herbert White.  There were 104 men in attendance.

 

The Pelsdorf Homemakers met last Thursday at the home of Mrs. Ada Demuth. The meeting was called to order by the new president, Mrs. Carol Jean Bender.

 

A report was given of the summer activities.  In June the club had an outdoor cooking meeting at the home of Mrs. June Clouse and an outdoor meal was prepared.  In July the club sponsored a bus trip to Sturgeon Bay and several ladies of the club, members of their families and others went along.
