Schmidt, Frank H. (31 DEC 1887 - 22 NOV 1957)

 

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. J. Hoffman at St. Bernard’s Church here at 9:30 Monday, for Frank H. Schmidt, 69, of Thorp City (Clark Co., Wis.), who passed away at his home at 8:55 Friday morning, Nov. 22, 1957, of a cerebral Hemorrhage.

 

Mr. Schmidt was born in the Town of Woodville, Calumet Co., Wis., on Dec. 31, 1887.  He attended school in Hollandtown, Wis., and came to Thorp in November 1910.  He farmed in this vicinity and in the Town of Worden until his retirement in 1947, when he moved to the city of Thorp.  He served as treasurer of the Pioneer School in Worden for 18 years, and was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters and Holy Name Society of St. Bernard’s Church.

 

His first wife, the former Alma Fischer, whom he married in 1912, passed away in 1918.

 

He was married on Nov. 12, 1924 to Charlotte Meyer at Plymouth, Wis.

 

Survivors include the widow; two children, Raymond F. Schmidt, Kaukauna, and Mrs. Elmer (Dorothy) Heidemann, Sheboygan; two brothers, Louis of Brillion and Henry of Kaukauna; five sisters, Mrs. Nick (Christine) Jackels, Port Isabel, Texas, Mrs. Matt (Jeanette) Thiel and Mrs. Josephine Mirsberger, both of Hilbert, Mrs. John (Clara) Hartzhein, Sherwood, and Mrs. John (Helen) Maier, Thorp; and 10 grandchildren.  Two brothers preceded him in death.

 

He was laid to rest in St. Bernard’s Cemetery.  Pallbearers were Wilfred Vanderhyden, Joe Benzschawel, Wm. Micke, Raymond Ketterhagen, George Maier and Walter Verkuillen.

Schmidt of Brillion, Mr. and Mrs. Aloysius Schuk of Kaukauna, Mr. and Mrs. John Schmidt of Brillion, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Schmidt of Kaukauna, and Mrs. Herman Nehring of Appleton, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. Matt Thiel, Mrs. Leonard Mirsberger, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Schulz, Harold Thiel and Cyril Thiel, all of Hilbert, Clarence Schmidt, Green Bay, Wis., Hilard Brantmaier of Sherwood, Wis., and Leonard Schmidt of Kaukauna, Mr. and Mrs. Cyril Halback of Hilbert, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Mielke of Menasha, and Mrs. Louis Jackels of Kaukauna, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Meyer of Sheboygan, Mr. and Mrs. John Splitt, Roger Splitt and Mrs. Floyd Steelmacher, all from Ripon, Joe Meyer, Paul Meyer and Kenneth Meyer from Plymouth, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Sonnentag of Greenwood, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Bortan of Eau Claire, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Maier from Stanley, Rev. Raymond W. Peters of Rising Sun, Mr. and Mrs. Anton Fischer of Boyd, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Fischer and daughter, Carol, from Minneapolis, Minn.
