Olson, Carl A. (18 June 1888 - 31 October 1960)

Carl A. Olson, 72, of Greenwood, a former Neillsville resident and widely-known auctioneer, died early Monday in the St. Croixdale Hospital in Prescott, where he had been a patient for the last 11 days.  He was a brother of Dr. Wm. Olson of Greenwood.

Funeral services are to be held this (Thursday) afternoon at 2 o’clock from Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Greenwood.  The Rev. Arvid Myhrwold will officiate.  Burial will be made in the Greenwood Cemetery.

Mr. Olson was born June 18, 1888, in Willow Lake, S. D., the son of the late John A. and Bertha (Reinerson) Olson.  For several years he farmed north of Greenwood, and for many years resided in Neillsville.    He had been in ill health for several years.

He is survived by his wife, the former Bernice Bostrom, whom he married October 7, 1953 in South Dakota; two daughters by a previous marriage, Mrs. Bradford (Phyllis) Constance, Ionia, Mich., and Mrs. Claryce Carter of Miami, Fla.  Other survivors include two brothers, Alvin Olson, Los Angeles, Calif., and Dr. William Olson, Greenwood; and two sisters, Mrs. Harold (Josephine) Shad, Sheboygan, and Mrs. William (Evangeline) Griffee of Oswego, Ore.

Arrangements are being made by the Hill Funeral Home in Greenwood.
