Braman, Mrs. Amos (Nancy) (22 Mar 1845 - 26 Oct 1913)

Mrs. Amos Braman died Sunday morning at her home at Dells Dam after an illness which extended over a number of years.  Deceased was born Nancy Fish in St. Lawrence County, New York, on March 22, 1845.  She lived there until at the age of 11 years, she removed with her parents to Kalamazoo, Mich.  In July 1862, she was united in marriage to Amos Braman and they took up their residence in Crawford County, Wis.  They lived there four years and then came to Clark County, settling on the farm which had ever since been their home.  Eight children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Braman, five of whom, with their father, remain to mourn the loss of their mother.  They are Geo. Braman of Montrose, Colo.; Nancy Bacon and Loretta Martin of Crawford County, Pearl and Mrs. Victor Horton of Dells Dam.

Deceased was a pious and Christian lady and from early childhood was reared in an atmosphere of charity and kindness.  She united with the Christian Church in 1871 and remained a member until 1892, when she removed to this county and here united with the Presbyterian Church at that time.  She was beloved by all her friends and neighbors.  The funeral was held yesterday, services being conducted by Rev. Softer of Oregon at the Dells Dam church at 11 o’clock, and interment being made in the Neillsville Cemetery.
