Granton, Wisconsin School (Notes - 1937)

 

Mrs. Walter Trimberger visited the Primary and Intermediate rooms last Friday, September 24.

 

Carol Jean Wink, Wendell Storm, Betty Lou Fero and Donald Tykac have been absent during the past week.

 

Bobbie LaGrander, Bonnie Rae Spry, and Betty Lou Fero celebrated birthdays by treating the children in the Primary room.

 

The fifth grade has the best attendance record, being one hundred per cent.

 

The Intermediate room enjoyed a picnic dinner, September 28, in honor of Maxine Todd.  Maxine and Russell Todd withdrew from school September 28, as they are moving to their new home in Sherwood.

 

The Upper grade room enjoyed a wiener and marshmallow roast Friday, September 24, in Lee’s woods.

 

Bernard Winn is a new student entering the sixth grade.

 

Tuesday and Wednesday, September 27 and 28th (28th and 29th) the high school enjoyed a fraction Bee.  Seniors and freshmen were against sophomores and juniors.

 

The Girl’s Glee Club entertained the P. T. A. at Longwood on September 24th.

 

Preparations are being made for the annual Homecoming Carnival, the date of which is tentatively set for October 29.

 

The P. T. A. meeting will be held October 4.  Assemblyman Nehs will speak on "Citizenship as related to Conservation of Human Resources."  The Juniors are serving lunch at this meeting.

 

Granton’s football team goes to Loyal, Friday, Oct. 1.  The team urges that the townsfolk be there to support them.
