Brecht, Frank (10 OCT 1889 - 15 OCT 1952)

 

Funeral services for Frank W. Brecht, 63, who died at his home Wednesday afternoon were held Saturday at 9:00 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church.  Father Norbert King officiated and burial was made in the parish cemetery.

 

Acting as pallbearers were Edwin Kreuser, Ed Searvogel, Nick Beaver, Leo Degenhardt, Leo Rueth, and Frank Wendel.

 

Mr. Brecht, the youngest of eleven children, was born in La Crosse County on Oct. 10, 1889.  At the age of 8 he moved to Monroe Co. where he received his education at St. Mary’s Parochial and the rural schools of the county.  In 1912 he was united in marriage to Mary Klinkner of Cashton, to which union was born five sons and three daughters.  In 1924 he moved to Clark County where he resided until his death, except for eight years spent on a farm in Marathon County.  Since 1949 he lived in the city of Loyal.

 

Mr. Brecht is survived by his wife, five sons, Peter, Herman, Emery, and Clarence, all of Loyal, Jerome, Unity; one daughter, Mrs. Adolph (Margaret) Gorke, Marshfield, and twelve grandchildren.  Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. John Cooper, Mrs. John Kemen and Mrs. Joe Karl, all of La Crosse; two step-sisters and one step-brother.

 

Two infant daughters and seven brothers and sisters preceded him in death.

Schrier, Cashton; Mrs. John Cooper, Mrs. John Kemen, Mrs. Joe Karl, Eugene, Evelyn and Angeline, Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Klinkner, Mrs. Tony Weible, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Gillis, all of La Crosse; Tony and Peter Klinkner of Sparta; Mrs. William Schnedecker, West Salem; Mrs. Henry Klinkner and Margie, Mrs. Lenore Zeck, Madison; Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Brecht, Unity; Mr. and Mrs. William Uhlman, Mrs. Everett Shaw, Neillsville; Mrs. Albert Vanderhoof, Mrs. Paul Bymers, Mrs. Albert Chamberlain, Spencer; Mrs. Casper Flock and Caroline, Gilman.
