Peterson, Olga Katrina (26 March 1903 - 5 February 1997)

Olga Katrina Peterson, 93, Owen, died on Wednesday, February 5, 1997, at 4:25 p.m. at the Oakbrook Manor Nursing Home, Thorp.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, February 8, 1997, 1:30 p.m. at the Nazareth Lutheran Church, Withee, with Reverend Paul Petersen officiating. Burial was in the Riverside Cemetery.  Pallbearers were: Mark Fredricks, Bob Oryszczyn, Malen Juzwiak, Wayne Satonica, Lyle Gilbertson and Rod Satonica.

The former Olga Katrina Anderson was born on March 26, 1903 in Swaledale, Iowa, the daughter of Emil and Laura (Jensen) Anderson.  Olga and Peter C. Peterson were married on December 31, 1921 in Thornton, Iowa.  The newly married couple moved to a farm in the Town of Hoard, north of Owen in 1921 (1922?) where they raised their family.  Peter died on January 11, 1980.  Olga continued to reside on the farm until becoming a resident at Oakbrook Manor in 1987.  She was a member of the Nazareth Lutheran Church and a Pinochle Club.

Olga was very talented, making hand-made quilts, crocheting, an excellent seamstress and craft maker, all of which she shared with her family and friends.  She especially enjoyed her flowers, both indoor and outdoor.  Olga will be remembered playing "Home Sweet Home", "Red Wing" and "Skip to My Lou" on her harmonica by her loving family.

She will be sadly missed by two sons: Arthur (Jane) Peterson of Withee, Larry Peterson of Santee, CA;          three daughters: Lauretta Gilbertson of Minneapolis, Doris Petke of Withee, Ida (Sam) Satonica of Owen; 23 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Peter C. Peterson, 1 son, Martin Peterson, on October 19, 1966 and 1 brother Yens Anderson

Maurina Funeral Service of Owen was in charge of arrangements.
