Mueller, John O. (7 DEC 1887 - 12 DEC 1952)

 

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Dec. 15, in Salem Lutheran Church, Veefkind, for John O. Mueller, Town of Sherman (Clark Co., Wis.), who passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield on Dec. 12, 1952.

 

The Rev. Elmer Aalto officiated and the services and burial was made in the church cemetery.

 

During the services Miss Marjorie Gotter, Loyal, sang "Heaven is My Home" and "Asleep in Jesus," accompanied by Jeanne Nysted.

 

Military rites were conducted at the graveside by the American Legion of Loyal, with a salute fired over the grave.  Thomas Wepfer, a boy Scot of Loyal, sounded Taps.

 

Pallbearers were Carl Gerdes, John Kurz, Julius Schroeder, Frank Dietsche, Alvin Kissinger and Phillip Kurz.

 

Flowers were carried by Mrs. Alvin Kissinger, Mrs. Julius Schroeder, Mrs. Frank Dietsche, Mrs. John Kurz and Mrs. Carl Gerdes.

 

Mr. Mueller was born Dec. 7, 1887 in the Town of Sherman.  He received his education in schools in this area, and June 11, 1919 he was married in Humbird to the former Ella Giloy.  He was a veteran of World War I and a retired farmer.

 

Surviving are his wife, a son Donald at home, a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Arlene) Forsyth of Biloxi, Miss.; an adopted son, Richard of Milwaukee; 3 grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Mary Rahm of Loyal and a brother, Charles Mueller, Chili.

 

Four brothers and a sister preceded him in death.

 

Out of town persons at the funeral were Mrs. Peter Schlueter, Clam Lake; Mrs. LeRoy Stabnow, Mellen; Wm. Giloy, Minneapolis; Mr. and Mrs. Everett Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Giloy, and Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Giloy, Humbird; Gerald and Vernon Giloy, and Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Ternes and son Lawrence, of Milwaukee; Mrs. Grace Giloy and children and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Zimmerman, Neillsville; and relatives and friends from Loyal, Chili and surrounding communities.
