York Center (1 September 1938)

 

Mrs. F. Griffith of Oshkosh spent several days last week with her sister-in-law, Mrs. J. Davis.

 

Mr. and Mrs. F. Wierenzenski left for Abbotsford Saturday where Frank will teach again this year.

 

Mr. and Mrs. W. Oldham, Mrs. Vera Kidd, and daughter of Granton visited the G. Searls home a week ago Sunday.

 

Paul Thompson, his sister Ruth, and Jesse James of Minneapolis were business callers at the Searls home Friday.

 

Mrs. Hattie Kier of Neillsville spent a couple days with Grace Rowe last week.

 

Mr. and Mrs. H. Berg and Mr. and Mrs. H. Voight spent Friday evening with Mr. and Mrs. M. V. Overman at Greenwood.

 

Mrs. F. Griffith and Mrs. J. Davis spent Saturday p.m. at the A. Schoengarth and Bill Davis homes in Neillsville.

 

G. Mortimer was a Neillsville caller Saturday.

 

R. Featz spent Sunday at the H. Voight home.

 

I. VandeBerg and wife were callers at the W. Eden home.

 

Mrs. Grace Rowe spent Sunday at the Walter Rowe home.

 

Elmer Dennis, a former resident of here, passed away at his home in Oakland, California.  His body was brought here for burial accompanied by his two sons, Edward and Frank, the funeral was held Thursday p.m. in the York Center Church.

 

Mr. and Mrs. G. Searls were Neillsville callers Thursday p.m.

 

Mrs. Grace Rowe and Mrs. Hattie Kier spent Friday p.m. with Mabel Voight.

 

Mrs. J. Davis will entertain the Ladies Aid for dinner Thursday at the Town Hall.
