Erickson, Ora Lee (20 JUN 1961)

 

Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Reiber are now visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Erickson.  They arrived on Wednesday from Babenhausen, Germany, where their marriage took place Tuesday, June 20, 1961.

 

Miss Ora Lee Erickson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Erickson, Rt. 1, Curtiss (Clark Co., Wis.), and Eugene Arthur Reiber, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Reiber of Tacoma, Wash., were united in marriage at the Babenhausen Kaserue Chapel with army chaplain George Kahl performing the ceremony at 7 o’clock in the evening.

 

During the ceremony, John Eaton sang "I Love Thee," by Grieg, "The Lord’s Prayer" and "O Perfect Love."

 

For her wedding the bride wore a waltz length gown of French lace over satin.  It was designed with a bateau neckline, long sleeves and a full skirt.  A crown of pearls and crystals held her fingertip illusion veil.  She carried a white Bible on which there was an arrangement of small red roses.

 

Attending her as maid of honor was Miss Joan Melby, Babenhausen.  She was attired in an aqua gown of French lace over satin, fashioned with short sleeves, a bateau neckline, and a full waltz length skirt..

 

Attending the groom was Timothy A. Furr, U.S. Army, Babenhausen.

 

David Bliven of Babenhausen ushered.

 

Following the ceremony, a reception as held at the Babenhausen Officer Club.

 

The new Mr. and Mrs. Reiber went on a honey moon trip to the Bavarian Alps and Holland.

 

The bride is a graduate of the Abbotsford High School and a 1957 graduate of Wis. State College, Stevens Point.  The groom is a 1952 graduate of the Pacific Lutheran University of Tacoma, Wash.

 

Both of them taught in the American Dependent School, Babenhausen, and in the fall both will be teaching at Augsburg, Germany in the American Dependent School.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Erickson will have a reception at their home Saturday evening in honor of their son-in-law and daughter.

 

At a later date, Mr. and Mrs. Reiber will go to Tacoma to visit his parents, and the last of August will return to Germany.
