Bettie E. Kuhl, 87, Granton, died peacefully on Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2011, at Ministry Saint Joseph;s Hospital, Marshfield. A private memorial service will be held at Windfall Cemetery in Granton in spring.

Bettie Ellen Osgood was born on May 16, 1923, in Granton, the daughter of Rella and Bessie Osgood. She graduated from Granton High School and continued her education in Stevens Point. She married Harland "Butch" Kuhl in Iowa, on Jan. 3, 1947. He predeceased her on May 29, 1999. She taught school in Granton country schools, and her students remember her fondly. She was also the bookkeeper for several years for Kuhl Implement Inc., which she and her husband founded in 1958.One of her great joys was watching the growth of her family’s farm.

She is lovingly survived by two children, Wayne (Janice) Kuhl, Granton, and Juliana Kuhl, Hayward.

Preceding her in death were one son, William (Bill) Kuhl; her parents; and a brother, Francis.
