Grumy, Elaine Marie (30 SEP 1961)

Miss Elaine Marie Grumy, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Grumy of Medford, became the bride of Lawrence Robert Jacobi, son of Mrs. Clara Jacobi of Abbotsford, on Saturday, Sept. 30, 1961, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medord.  The 11 o’clock ceremony was performed by the Rt. Rev. Msgr. Gregory J. Reuter, before the nuptial high mass.

The bride, who was gien in marriage by her father, appeared in a floor length gown of Chantilly lace over romance rose taffeta.  Sequins trimmed the Sabrina neckline of the short sleeved bodice.  The full hooped skirt was floor length.  She wore a crystal crown with romance face veiling and carried an arrangement of red roses.

Mrs. Norman Lindau attended her sister as matron of honor.  She wore a floor length frock of cotillion blue nylon sheer over taffeta, with embroidered trim and tiered skirt, and matching jacket over the strapless bodice.  Her bouquet was made of blue asters.

Mr. Lindau served as best man.

Seating the guests at the church were Vane Gokey Jr. and Kenneth Gowery.

Festivities of the wedding day included a 12 o’clock dinner, a reception at the American Legion club rooms, followed by a 4 o’clock supper.  In the evening a wedding dance was held at Memorial Hall, Dorchester.

Mr. and Mrs. Jacobi left on a wedding trip to the southern states and after Oct. 10 will be at home on South Main St., Colby.

The groom is working as a cheesemaker.
