Weller, Joan C. (7 OCT 1961)

Marriage vows were exchanged between Miss Joan Catherine Weller and Ronald Wayne Amacher of Owen (Clark Co., Wis.) in a double ring ceremony at Christ Lutheran Church, Saturday, Oct. 7, 1961.  The Rev. F. H. Sprengler read the service, during which Herbert Juneau sang "The Lord’s Prayer" and "Wedding Prayer," at 2 o’clock.

Parents of the bridal couple are Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Weller of Abbotsford and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Amacher of Owen.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, appeared in a floor length gown of Chantilly lace styled with a molded bodice cut to a V below the fitted waistline.  The scalloped Sabrina neckline was embroidered with tiny seed pearls and and the long sleeves tapered to points over the wrists.  The very bouffant skirt was made entirely of ruffled tiers of the scalloped edge lace.

An orange blossom crown imported from Germany secured the scalloped edged veil of silk illusion.  She carried a bouquet of yellow and bronze pompons.

Attending the bride as matron of honor, was her sister, Mrs. Larry Blunck of Northfield, Minn.  The bridesmaids were Miss Myrna Weller, Abbotsford, and Miss Sherri Amacher, Owen, sisters of the couple.

Their frocks were of white nylon over shrimp taffeta designed with a straight front to a V in the back of the bodice, and accented by a cummerbund at the waistline.  They carried baskets of flowers like the bride’s.

Larry Blunck was best man and Bruce and Dale Amacher of Owen were groomsmen.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the village hall and supper was served at the church dining room.  In the evening, the new Mr. and Mrs. Amacher greeted friends at a wedding dance at Memorial Hall, Dorchester.

After a wedding trip to Mackinac Island and northern Wisconsin, they will be at home at Withee, Route 1.  The groom is a 1955 graduate of the Withee High School and is a contract milk hauler for the White House Milk Co., Abbotsford.

His bride is a 1960 graduate of the Abbotsford High School and was employed at Employers Mutual Insurance Co., Wausau.
