Maple Ridge (9 January 1935)

 

Mr. and Mrs. Albert Schecklman were visitors a week ago Sunday at the Ray Dorst home.

 

A party was given in honor Mrs. Adolph Foemmel’s birthday New Year’s Eve at her home.  Bunco furnished the evening entertainment, and prizes were won by the following high - Russel Roehl and Mrs. Wm. Bandt, Jr. - low Donald Lindow and Esther Foemmel.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Lee entertained at a card party New Year’s Eve.

 

The Adolph Foemmel, Arthur Happe, Albert and Arthur Lindow and Edward Leonhard families attended the New Year’s Dinner in the Evangelical church parlors.

 

Miss Geneva Lindow spent New Year’s Day with Audrian and Lois Leonhard. 

 

Mr. and Mrs. Ray Dost and family and Mr. and Mrs. Herman Roehl spent New Year’s Eve at Ervin Bandt’s.

 

Arthur Lindow and daughter, Geneva called at Willie Bandt’s Wednesday.

 

Miss Esther Foemmel and Mrs. Arthur Lindow and daughters helped Mrs. Walter King tie four quilts Wednesday.

 

Miriam and Everett Lindow spent several days at the Leonhard home.

 

Arthur Lindow sawed wood for Louis Lindow Thursday.

 

Mrs. Albert Lindow and daughter Lorna were visitors of Mrs. Ray Dorst Friday afternoon.

 

The young people of this community attended League business meeting at the Evangelical parsonage Friday evening. The following officers were elected and later a lunch was served:

 

President - Wenzel Lee, Vice President - Iva Zimmerman, Treasurer - Lucille Happe, Mission Treas. - Lydia Foemmel

 

Miss Audrian Leonhard spent Friday until Sunday with her cousin Miriam Lindow at Chili.

 

Miss Helen Sparks of Sherwood returned to Arthur Happe’s Saturday.

 

Ray Dorst sawed wood Friday afternoon.

 

Arthur Lindow purchased a horse from Kurt Marg.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Glen Roehl and daughters were Sunday visitors at Adolph Foemmels.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Arndt and Mr. an Mrs. Ray Dorst attended a shower given for Mr. and Mrs. Albert Huettl at Clarence Nowack’s Friday evening.  Mrs. Albert Lindow stayed with their children.

 

Lydia Foemmel who has been enjoying a two weeks vacation returned to Dr. Mason’s at Owen Saturday.

 

Marion Lindow left Sunday night for Eau Claire where she will attend school, after spending a two weeks vacation at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Lindow.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Ray Dorst and family spent Sunday at Joe Felsers in Neillsville.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Herman Roehl and family called at Art Levanduskys Sunday afternoon.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Lindow and daughters were Sunday evening supper guests of Mrs. Ed Leonard.

 

School opened Monday after a two weeks vacation with four being absent Monday.
