Globe, Wisconsin (2 March 1961)

 

The Ladies Aid Society will meet this (Thursday) afternoon at the school.  Mrs. William Hoffmann and Mrs. Ruege will be the hostesses.

 

Mrs. Robert Schlinkert entertained at a quilting party last Thursday.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Mitte entertained their card club Friday evening.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Lebrecht Kalsow visited Sunday afternoon with Mrs. Anna Pischer in Granton.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Ferdinand Grap, Martin Kalsow and Mr. and Mrs. Lebrecht Kalsow attended a birthday party at the Albert Kalsow home Saturday evening honoring Mr. Kalsow’s 87th Birthday.  Other guests included: Mr. and Mrs. Dave Seif, Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Kalsow, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Grottke and daughter, and Mr. Gloff, Neillsville; Mrs. Fala Gloff and daughter Carol, Marshfield; and Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Sternitzky and sons, Granton. The evening was spent at cards, and a lunch was served.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Hagen and family visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Sturtz, Sr., in Loyal Saturday evening.

 

Mrs. Frank, George, and Gordon Thoma and daughter, and Mrs. Herman Dux, made a trip to Chippewa Falls last Wednesday.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Louis Dux and family visited Mr. and Mrs. Danny Patey in Neillsville Sunday afternoon.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Thoma and daughter, Donald Kalsow and Alfred Kuenkel, helped Norman Poppe celebrate his birthday Friday evening.

 

Theodore Mitte and sons, Robert and Franklin, and Paul Klauer drove to Dousman Sunday morning, where they called on Lawrence Halbrader and found him in a wheelchair. They also called on Mr. and Mrs. George Oleson and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Hemp and family in Columbus.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Schlinkert were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Lange in Neillsville Saturday while Mr. and Mrs. Victor Schlinkert and daughters visited her mother, Mrs. Charles Guk in Granton.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Thoma and daughter were dinner and supper guests of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Dux.

 

The Weston Local of the Farmers Union will hold its monthly meeting at the Alvin Jacob home Friday evening.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Christopherson of Neillsville were supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Lebrecht Kalsow Friday.
