Weiss, Marguerite J. (25 AUG 1962)

Preceding a nuptial high mass at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, Saturday, Aug. 25, 1962, Miss Marguerite Jean Weiss became the bride of David John Rueden in a double ring ceremony witnessed by the Rev. Raymond B. Schulz at 11 o’clock.

Mr. and Mrs. Herman Weiss and Mr. and Mrs. Art Rueden of rural Abbotsford are the parents of the bridal couple.

The bride, who was presented in marriage by her father, wore a floor length gown of nylon tulle over satin with a Chantilly lace bodice with baby seed pearls and sequins adorning the neck.  A crown of seed pearls and sequins held her fingertip veil of bridal illusion.  Pink roses and white pompons were combined in her bouquet.

Attending the couple were Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Rueden, Dorchester, a brother and sister-in-law of the groom.  Miss Eileen Zugier, Dorchester, a friend, and Miss Linda Weiss, Abbotsford, a sister of the bride, were the bridesmaids, and Alvin Biazel, Dorchester, and Harry Weiss, Abbotsford, the bride’s brother, were the groomsmen.

Green was selected for the frocks of the bridal aides, a light green for the matron of honor and a darker shade for the bridesmaids.

Their dresses were alike, of silk and net with a scoop neckline and a ruffled panel detailing the back of the skirt.  They carried bouquets of pink roses and yellow mums.

About 100 guests attended the dinner served in the church hall after the ceremony.  Other festivities of the day included a reception at the home of the bride’s parents and a wedding dance at Memorial Hall, Dorchester.

After a wedding trip in Pennsylvania, the new Mr. and Mrs. Rueden will make their home on a farm in the town of Holton.

Both young people are graduates of the Abbotsford High School.  Prior to her marriage, the bride was employed as a bookkeeper at Winkelman’s of Wausau.

Guests at the wedding came from Owen, Medford, Plymouth, New London, Arpin, Marshfield, Loyal, Colby, Green Bay, Colorado, Iowa and Sunbuy and Sandusky, Ohio.
