Fensome, Emily (31 AUG 1876 - 26 FEB 1955)

 

Mrs. W. T. Fensome, 78, died at her home in the city of Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.) , at 2 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 26,, 1955.  She had been confined to her bed since last September.

 

Mrs. Fensome, nee Emily Bishner, was born in Cranfield, England, Aug. 31, 1876.  She received her education in England.  She was married to Walter Fensome in England, April 16, 1906.  They came to America on their wedding trip and decided to make their home here.

 

They settled at Walworth and lived on a farm there until 1920, when they went to make their home on a farm near Chetek.  They lived there until 1930, when Mr. Fensome entered the ministry of the Free Methodist Church.  Seventeen years ago they came to make their home in the parsonage of the Loyal Free Methodist Church.  While here they retired from the ministry and purchased a home on Union Street in Loyal.

 

Mrs. Fensome is survived by her husband, two daughters, Miss Alice Fensome, who is home on furlough from Japan where she is a missionary for the Free Methodist Church; Miss Ethel Fensome, who is employed in Eau Claire, and one son, Herbert Fensome, Loyal.  Two grandchildren, one brother, Amos Bishner of Walworth, and one brother and one sister in England, also survive Mrs. Fensome.

 

Funeral services were held in the Loyal Free Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. J.R. Putt officiating.

 

Pallbearers at the funeral of Mrs. W. T. Fensome were Floyd Smith, Dennis Larson, Ralph Pratt, Bernard Clouse, R.E. Larson and Albert Oestreich.

 

Mrs. Bernard Dodte of Neillsville was pianist and the Rev. and Mrs. Putt sang "All the Way My Savior Leads Me" and "Sometimes We’ll Understand" at the church service, and "I Will Meet You in the Morning" at the graveside service.

 

The Rev. William Markee of Chetek assisted the Rev. Putt by offering the prayer of the services.

 

Those from out of town who attended the services came from Walworth, Eau Claire, Chetek, Cameron, Owen, Barron and Neillsville.
