Wall, Susan Jane (Marriage - 10 June 1961)

Wedding vows were exchanged Saturday in a double ring ceremony performed by the Rev. William Koehler of Green Bay in the United Church of Christ in Neillsville, which united in marriage Miss Susan Jane Wall, Neillsville, and Robert M. Stoughton of Glen Flora.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Fred Wall, Neillsville, and Mr. and Mrs. Orlin Stoughton, Glen Flora.

Candelabra and baskets of white gladioli, lilies and pink carnations adorned the altar.

The bride given in marriage by her father was attired in a floor length gown of white silk organza over satin. The bouffant skirt was adorned with lace appliqués and a chapel train. The Basque styled fitted bodice of lace appliqué was trimmed with sequins and seed pearls, and its portrait neckline buttoned down the back.  Three-quarter-length sleeves completed the bridal outfit.  A fingertip veil of imported silk bridal illusion cascaded from an open crown edged with pearls and sequins.  Her bridal bouquet was a pale pink orchid.

The wedding party consisted of Mrs. Ellis (Pat) Wall as matron of honor; Miss Bonnie Stoughton, sister of the groom, and Mrs. Ronald Ziegler, a cousin of the bride as bridesmaids.  They wore street length dresses of pink organza, with flower hats and blusher veils.

The groom was attended by Ellis Wall, brother of the bride, as bestman.  Groomsmen were David DeMert of Neillsville, and Duane Sands of Eau Claire.

Nuptial music was played by Eileen Zank and Kay Lautenbach. Ellis Wall sang, "The Wedding Prayer" and "O Perfect Love."

Pink and white streamers decked the Legion Hall, where a reception was held for 250 guests.

On their return from a wedding trip to the Black Hills, Mr. and Mrs. Stoughton will reside at 734 Broadway, Eau Claire.

The new Mrs. Stoughton is a graduate of Neillsville High School (1957) and is a registered nurse. She is employed as a surgical nurse in Luther Hospital, Eau Claire.  Mr. Stoughton is a student at Eau Claire State College and is a member of Phi Sigma Epsilon Fraternity.

Guests from away here for the wedding included: Mr. and Mrs. B. Lundquist, Eau Claire; Mr. and Mrs. Abner Hoff and Miss Kathy Hoff, Royal Center, Ind.; Mrs. Robert Strong, Miss Connie Strong, and Alan Strong, Denver, Ind.; Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Franklin, Evansville; Mr. and Mrs. Del Robbins and family and Mr. and Mrs. Art Biggs, Janesville; Mr. and Mrs. Carl O’Brien, Logansport, Ind.; Mr. and Mrs. Happy Hall, Eau Claire; Mr. and Mrs. Fran St. Arnalelt, Eau Claire; Mr. and Mrs. Tab Erickson, Strum; Mr. and Mrs. George Van Tatenhof, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Rohde, Greenwood; Misses Judy Frank, Janet Lundquist, Eva Mohr, Dorothy Marten, Luann Bauman, Ruth Mattison and Mrs. J.
