Carter, Maude (12 October 1884 - 28 March 1961)

 

Committal services were held at 2 p.m. Monday afternoon for Mrs. Maude Carter in the Greenwood Cemetery. The Rev. Ethel Nulton came from Waupaca to officiate.

 

Graveside services were performed by members of the local Order of Eastern Star; Worthy Matron Mrs. Karl Paape, with Evan Hatton acting as worthy patron. Burial was made in the Greenwood Cemetery.

 

Mrs. Carter, former resident of Greenwood, died March 28, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, South America, where she had resided with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Mauricio De Pages, or the last two years.

 

The former Maude Greene was born in Ohio October 12, 1884. She was married to Claude Carter in Greenwood on January 8, 1906.  Mrs. Carter resided here until two years ago, when she went to live with her only daughter.

 

She was a charter member of the Order of Eastern Star in Greenwood.

 

She is also survived by a brother, Clarence Greene of Park Falls.

 

Crematory services were held in Buenos Aires in March.  Arrangements here were made by the Hill Funeral Home.
