Beaver, Nicholas  (04 JAN 1886-26 OCT 1953)

 

Nicholas J. Beaver, 67, a life-long resident of this community, suffered a heart attack Monday morning at 9 o’clock, while driving his pick-up truck on Highway 98 on the west side of Loyal. Death occurred instantly. His brother, William, who was riding with him, brought the vehicle to a halt.

 

Nicholas Beaver was born on a farm south of Loyal Jan. 4. 1886. He was married to Helen Miller June 7, 1910 at Loyal.

 

Most of his life he was engaged in farming. For over 30 years he worked for the Madison Silo Co. of Chippewa Falls. He moved to the city of Loyal in 1943.

 

He was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and its Holy Name Society.

 

Beginning Tuesday evening, the deceased rested in state at the Myre Funeral Home and a General Rosary was held there at 8 p.m. Wednesday.

 

He is survived by his wife, three daughters, Mrs. Leon (Margaret) Hoeser; Mrs. Lothar (Margaret) Oestreich, Loyal; and Mrs. Robert (Pat) Kujawa, Stevens Point, and four sons, Harold and Howard, Watertown; Bob, Milwaukee, and James, San Diego, Calif. Burial was in the parish cemetery.

 

Nicholas Beaver was one of a family of 19 children. Five brothers and two sisters survive: Matt, Ed, Bernard and William of Loyal, George of Granton; Mrs. Susan Wedl, Loyal and Mrs. P. J. Schmitz, Compton, Calif.

 

Fourteen grandchildren survive. One daughter, six brothers and five sisters preceded him in death.
