St. John, Clara Lillian (8 February 1932 - 1 April 2011)

 

Clara St. John, 79, of Neillsville, died Friday, April 1, in the Critical Care Unit of St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.

 

Clara Lillian Janicki was born Feb. 8, 1932, in Alma Township, Jackson County. She graduated from Neillsville High School in 1950.  April 20, 1952, she was united in marriage to Val St. John at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Pittsville.  They lived south of Neillsville and Clara worked at home raising their family. 

 

She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Sherwood.  She enjoyed visiting with friends and family, crocheting, completing puzzles of all kinds and reading books.

 

She is survived by two children, Kren (Joseph) Tolaney of Willard and Richard (Dawn) St. John of Mooreville, NC; eight grandchildren, Christina Tolaney of Marshfield, Melissa (Andy) Nielsen of Greenwood, Tonia (Trevor) Wuethrich of Greenwood, Larry (Cynthia) St. John of Wausau, Kevin (Jana) St. John of Milwaukee, Renee (Roy) Olson of Wausau, Scott (Sarah) Krause of Stratford, Tom (Danielle) Krause of Fenwood; a sister, Regina Mays of Wylie, TX; and 14 great-grandchildren.

 

She was preceded in death by husband Val; grandson Timothy Tolaney; and siblings: Clemence, Wanda, Walter, Prixeda, Helen, Ted, Josie, Joe and Clementine.

 

A funeral service for Clara was held at 11 a.m. Monday April 4, 2011 at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville.  Pastor Tom Hahn officiated.  Music was provided by Jodi Rueth. Interment was made in the Hatfield Cemetery at Hatfield, (Jackson County).  Visitation was from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday, at the Gesche Funeral Home.
