Twait, Fredrick Severin  (13 September 1894 - 23 November 1961)

 

Fredrick Twait, 67, who made his home in the Longwood area for 37 years, died at his home November 23, of a heart attack.

 

Funeral services were held November 25 from the Emanuel Lutheran Church at Longwood, with the Rev. A. C. Myhrwold officiating. Burial was made in the parish cemetery.

 

Pallbearers were: John Ericksmoen, James Petersen, Vaino Talso, Emery Sorenson, Harold Sorenson and Stanley Greschner.  Carrying the floral offerings were Mesdames Emery Sorenson, James Peterson, John Ericksmoen, and Harold Sorenson.

 

Frederick Severin Twait was born September 13, 1894, in Bergin, Norway. When he was two years of age he accompanied his parents to this country, settling in Ottawa, Ill.

 

In 1919, he moved to the Longwood area, settling on a farm.  On January 14, 1939, he was united in marriage to Rosie Lee Whitman at Greenwood.  The couple made their home at Longwood until 1954, when he accepted a position as stationary engineer at Lake Forest Academy, at Lake Forest, Ill.  He remained there until his retirement in 1959, when he returned to the farm in the Town of Longwood.

 

He is survived by his son, Howard, of Wisconsin Rapids; and three daughters, Mrs. George (Patricia) Richers and Freda Twait of Chicago, Ill., Mrs. George (Edythe) Vromen of Wisconsin Rapids; three sisters, Mrs. Martha Sorenson and Elizabeth Twait of rural Owen, and Mrs. Vaino (Evalyn) Talso of rural Greenwood; and by four brothers, Nels and Olof of Rural Owen, Silas of Good Hope, Ill., and Elmer of Chicago, Ill.; and by four grandchildren.
