Murphy, Randy  (15 OCT 1959-30 MAR 2011)

 

Randy D. Murphy, 51, Greenwood, died at his home on Wednesday, March 30, 2011. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., on Monday, April 4, at Cuddie Funeral Home. Greenwood. Rev. Jon Guenther officiated. Burial followed in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, town of Richfield, Rural Marshfield. Pallbearers were Sam Murphy, Mike Haas, Randy Seliskar, Daren Ratzloff, Brect Brown and Todd Lindner.

 

Randy Dale Murphy was born on Oct. 15, 1959, in Marshfield, the son of Robert and Esther (nee Todd) Murphy. He was raised on a farm near marathon and then the family moved to Greenwood when he was 13 years old. He graduated from Greenwood High School in 1977. After high school, he worked at Grassland Butter for several years, while attending UW-Eau Claire, where he was studying auto mechanics. He married Grabara on Sept. 14, 1991, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Greenwood. They later divorced. After completing and receiving his degree in auto mechanics, he worked at Gross Motors in Neillsville, Power Pac in Marshfield until retiring due to a disability. He had many interests, but especially loved stock car racing when he was younger, camping and deer hunting.

 

He will be dearly missed by his children, Sam Murphy and Molly Murphy. Both of Greenwood; his parents, Robert and Esther Murphy, Marshfield: his sister, Roxanne Brown, Marshfield; two nieces, Lindsey Brown, Marshfield, and Jessica Brown, Eau Claire; one nephew, Brent Brown, Marshfield; and two great-nieces, Khloe Breu, Marshfield, and Candence Brown, Eau Claire.
