Kohniak, Cecilia (18 JAN 1892 - 2 JAN 1960)

 

Mrs. Joseph Kohniak, 67, Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), was placed in her final resting place in the family lot  at Riverside Cemetery when funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon.  Services were conducted from the Hoeper and Kraut Funeral Home with Rev. James Stone officiating.

 

During the services vocal selections were sung by Rev. and Mrs. Stone, with Mrs. Duane Morschek accompanying them at the organ.  Howard and Herman Rabska, Arnold Vater, Art Karow, Milton Seaman and Norbert Bruchert served as pallbearers, while the floral offerings were cared for by Mesdames Herman Rabska and Norbert Bruchert.

 

Mrs. Kohniak passed away Saturday at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, where she was being treated for a heart condition and other complications.

 

She was born Jan. 18, 1892 in Russia.  In 1916 she was united in marriage to Joseph Kohniak at a wedding ceremony performed in Chicago, Ill.  Later the couple moved to the Town of Hixon, where they farmed for many years prior to their retirement about five years ago when they moved to a smaller farm just south of the village of Withee.

 

Besides her husband she is survived by five sons, John Kaplia, Withee, Nick Kaplia, Eau Claire, Mike and Alex Kohniak, Chicago, Ill., and George of Anchorage, Alaska; two daughters, Mrs. John (Ann) Nissula, Withee, and Mrs. Joyce, Greenwood; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
