Krueger, Gerhard #3 (27 APR 1918 - 2 MAY 1960)

Because of his failing health Gerhard H. Krueger and his family retired from farming in the Town of Green Grove (Clark Co., Wis.) four years ago and moved to Phoenix, Ariz.  On May 2nd, 1960 he succumbed to the tiring and ill effects of his illness and passed away.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 o’clock Sunday, May 8, from the Lulloff Funeral Home at Colby.  Rev. Timmerman of the South Green Grove Lutheran church officiated, with burial being made in the parish cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers were John Burtard, Arthur Laabs, Lester Krueger, Arnold Krueger, Alvin Krueger and Raymond Kobs.

Gerhard Krueger was born April 27, 1918 in the Town of Green Grove.  He received his schooling at Atwood and later attended the Abbotsford High School.  He served for four years with the armed forces, three of them being spent overseas.  Upon his discharge from the service he returned to Green Grove where he farmed until his illness forced him to give it up in 1956.  During his residence here he was active in the American Legion and served on the Atwood School Board.

His untimely passing is mourned by his wife, the former Esther Senhem, whom he married Oct. 30, 1945 at Columbus, Wis.; two sons, Gerhard Jr. and Everett; two daughters, Charlotte and Theresa; his mother, Mrs. William Krueger; a brother, Melvin, Athens, and two sisters, Mrs. Emil (Viola) Untiedt Sr., Curtiss, and Mrs. Melvin (Betty) Gosse, Curtiss.
