Miss Margaret Ellen Christy became the bride of Donald J. Clifton Saturday, May 28th, 1960, at 10:00 o’clock in the morning at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church.

 

The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Margaret Christy, 214 Rethke Avenue, and Ted Christy, Pomona, Calif.  The bridegroom’s parents are Mrs. Elda Clifton, 3574 Ridgeway Ave. and Floyd Clifton, Madison.

 

Given in marriage by James Dunn, Madison, the bride wore a floor length gown of white lace with a sequin accented neckline, three quarter length sleeves and full gathered skirt.  A lace Swedish crown held her elbow length illusion veil.  Her flowers were red roses and ivy.

 

Miss Mary Ann Christy was her sister’s maid of honor in an opera length gown of shell pink organza over taffeta with a bateau neckline, cummerbund, and back panel of flamingo pink.  She wore a flamingo pink organza petal hat and carried white and pink carnations.

 

Miss Joanne Miller and Miss Carol Kohen were bridesmaids in sky blue organza contrasted with romance blue.  Their flowers were white and blue carnations.

 

Donald Quinto was best man.  Charles Wolff and Donald Seeliger served as groomsmen.  Floyd, Kenneth and Gerald Clifton ushered.

 

The Rev. Delbert Schmelzer officiated.  The bridegroom’s nephew, Richard Clifton, served at the altar.

 

Breakfast for the immediate families was served at Leske’s Steak House.  A large reception was held at the west Side Businessmen’s Club.

 

The newlyweds will live at 3574 Ridgeway avenue.  The bride attends the Madison Vovation School.  The bridegroom is employed by Fix Brose.
