Morrison, Irene (civil court victory - Mar 1914)

Mrs. Irene Morrison, who brought suit against the members of the Wisconsin State Board of Agriculture of 1910 for $10,000 damages for injuries sustained when the aeroplane of Archie Hoxey plunged into a crowd at the state fair on Sept. 16 of that year, has been awarded $3,000 by a circuit jury.  William MacLaren, Geo. C. Cox, Charles L. Hill, J.L. Herbst, J.J. Nelson and L.E. Scott were eliminated as defendants for the reason that hey had nothing to do with permitting Hoxey to start from the track instead of the infield.  This left Grant Fisher, C.H. Everett, George Wylie, George McKerrow and Edward Nordman. - Milwaukee Evening Wisconsin
