Schafer, Jeanette Rose (Marriage –1962)

 

St. Stephan’s Catholic Church in Chili was the scene July 28 of the wedding of Miss Jeanette Rose Schafer of Spencer, and Thomas G. Paun, Jr., of Rt. 2 Granton, whose parents are Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Schafer, Spencer, and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Paun, Sr., of Rt. 2, Granton. The double ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. Fr. Carl J. Walljasper.

 

Mr. Schafer escorted his daughter to the altar.  She wore a floor length bridal gown of Chantilly lace and tulle styled with a scalloped sequin and pearl trimmed Sabrina neckline with the Basque bodice fashioned with long tapered sleeves.  The full hoped skirt was designed with lace and tulle panels over taffeta. The bridal headpiece was a Queen’s crown of pearls and aurora borealis and was complete with a finger-tip French illusion veil.

 

She carried a bridal bouquet of American Beauty roses with white gardenia. White streamers with tiny rosebuds cascaded from the bouquet.

 

Matron of honor was Mrs. Joe Paun of Milwaukee and bridesmaids were Carol Schafer, Spencer, Mrs. Virginia Paun, Rockford, Ill., and Miss Sharon Paun, Granton.  They were attired in street length dresses of silk organza with lace bodices and spaghetti straps over which sleeveless bolero jackets were worn. Headpieces were matching half-hats complete with matching nosegay veils.

 

Vicki Neilson of Port Edwards was flower girl and wore a silk organza floor length dress over white taffeta. She carried a miniature of the bride’s bouquet.  James Paun, nephew of the groom, carried the rings on a heart shaped pillow.

 

Joe Paun of Milwaukee was his brother’s best man. Groomsmen were Joe Rosandich, West Allis; Kenneth Schafer, Spencer; and Frank Paun of Rockford, Ill.

 

Five hundred guests were entertained at the reception at the home of the groom.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Paun are both employed in Marshfield and will reside on Rt. 2, Granton on their return from a wedding trip to northern Wisconsin.
