Laffe, Esther F. (11 MAY 1948)

Tuesday afternoon, May 11th, 1948, at 2:00 o’clock, at the altar decked with lighted candles, in the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, St. Paul, Miss Esther F. Laffe, younger daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis G. Laffe of Humbird (Clark Co., Wis.), became the bride of Philip D. Haugstad, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Haugstad of Black River Falls.  The Rev. M.S. Bredlow, pastor of the church, performed the ceremony.

The bride was attired in the traditional long white satin gown with fingertip veil, and carried an orchid corsage.  The groom wore a medium blue suit.  The attendants were members of the congregation.

The bride graduated with the class of 1944 of the Humbird High School.  In 1945 she graduated with a class of beauticians at Eau Claire’s Beauty Culture School.  The groom graduated in 1942 from the Alma Center High School.  He served three years in the air corps and is now engaged as a pitcher with the St. Paul Baseball club.
