York Center (30 September 1910)

The Modern Woodmen held a special meeting last Wednesday night so Byrl F. Winn and Vernon Rowe could ride the goat.

Reports are that Lizzie Lincoln and daughters will leave next week for California to make that their home.

Miss Carrie Richardson of Merrill has been visiting in this vicinity the past week.

Mr. and Mrs. Elwin Root who had charge of the M. C. Alton farm the past year have assumed the management of G. Root’s farm.

Mrs. Sarah Lindsley is able to be about again after being shut in for nearly three weeks from the effects of applying a strong solution of carbolic acid for salt rheum.  She appreciates her liberty again very much.  Many of us do not realize what it is to be shut in by illness or misfortune and be deprived of enjoying our liberty.  We never miss the water until the well runs dry.

H. L. Snyder and John Kubat have purchased the Gil Longway forty.  The purchase price was $2,000.

We are informed that A. W. Hales is building another silo.  His corn crop this year is simply immense.

Vet Pease took his sister Mrs. Mary Van Tassel to visit old friends who reside near Spencer, last Wednesday.
