Chili (11 November 1910)

The election is over for a few years and the voter can rest.  Now it is up to those that are elected to see that the will of the people will be put into action not the interest of the big money men alone.  A very small vote was cast in this town which is an indication of lack of interest.  It is every citizen’s duty to vote as much as it is his privilege.  When the last vote is cast it is time to lay down the arms. There are too many that think that their vote doesn’t count, and it is just there where the people will lose when they are too secure in the hope of victory.

Degener has one manure spreader left which will be sold at reasonable figures at present.

The hunters are getting ready for the annual deer hunt.  It is a time of pleasure for those that love out of door life.  The usual quota will go north from here.

There was a gathering of the members of the Chili Star band with their wives and sweethearts at Albert Degener’s.  An enjoyable time was had with band music, card playing and other past-times.

Chas Lindow will have his hen house and wood shed finished this week, while John Fraser has his hen house coming nicely.  There is always some building going on.

Mrs. John Hutt and baby returned from S. D. where the little boy had been quite sick.
