Olsen, Judith Lee (Marriage - 29 December 1962)

Miss Judith Lee Olsen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard L. Olsen of Rt. 1 Owen, and Richard Harry Braun, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Braun of Rt. 2, Greenwood exchanged nuptial vows in a candlelight service on December 29 performed by Rev. Arvid Myhrwold of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Greenwood.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, approached the altar attired in a white satin gown, fashioned with a back bustle and chapel train.  Her fingertip veil was held in place by a crown of pearls.  She carried a white orchid surrounded by red sweetheart roses on a white Bible, a gift of her late grandmother. Red sweetheart rosebuds cascaded down the shower streamers.

The altar of the church was adorned with red carnations, pine and candelabra.

Mrs. Arvid Myrhwold sang "O’ Perfect Love" and "The Wedding Prayer," accompanied by Mrs. Don Warner at the organ.

The bride chose for her maid-of-honor her sister, Miss Donna Olsen.  Bridesmaids were Miss Susan Braun, sister of the groom, Joyce Dyre, a cousin of the bride, and Marcia Hammersbach, a close friend and classmate.

The attendants wore red velvet dresses with fitted bodices and full skirts. Their headpieces were round, halo-type satin bands, entwined with pearls and veiling.

Each carried a white fur muff centered with a large red carnation and green holly, from which hung white velvet ribbon bows and streamers.

Flower girl was three-year-old Kathy Olsen.  Her red velvet dress with bouffant skirt was trimmed with white lace ruffles and lace.  She carried a white basket of white pompoms and red Christmas trimming.

Danny Kind, close friend of the groom, was his best man.  Other attendants were Jerry Capet of Fond du Lac, Sidney Nauer of Colby and Dennis Wendt of Owen.

A wedding dinner was served to 200 guests in the church parlors.

The bride is a graduate of Greenwood High School and has been employed in Milwaukee.  The groom, also a graduate of Greenwood High School, has been with the Air Force, stationed at Amarillo, Tex.

The newly married couple is on a trip to various parts of Wisconsin and after January18 they will make their home in Glasgow, Mont., where Mr. Braun will be stationed.
