Hemersbach, Lydia (30 JAN 1924-12 SEPT 2011)

 

Lydia E. Hemersbach, 87, Granton, died on Monday, Sept. 12, 2011, at the Neillsville Care and Rehabilitation Center. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., on Thursday, Sept. 15, at the Zion American Evangelical Lutheran Church, Granton, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Rev. Keith Lueneburg will officiate. Music will be provided by Marjorie Dahl, organist. Private interment will be in the Gates of Heaven Cemetery, Marshfield.

 

Lydia Emilie Hillert was born on Jan. 30, 1924, in Granton, the daughter of August and Eugenia (nee Mueller) Hillert. She attended the Roder School in Granton and graduated from Granton High School in 1942. On Aug. 8, 1953, she married Henry Hemersbach in Waukegan, Ill. They lived in Lake Mills. Henry died on June 1, 1983, and in 1986, Lydia moved back to Granton.

 

Survivors include a sister, Ida Hinkelmann, Byron, Ill.; a brother-in-law, Joe "Bill" Brown, Milwaukee; four sisters-in-law, Frances Hemersbach, ion, Ill., Patricia Hemersbach, Tuscon, Ariz., Angela Merlak, Wonder Lake, Ill., and Frieda Thorson, Greenwood; and nieces,nephews, cousins and many friends.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry; her parents; a brother, Martin Hillert; two sisters-in-law, Dora Hillert and Marie Hillert; six brothers-in-law, Ewald Hinkelman, Edmund (Tina) Hemersbach, Alphonse (Hedy) Hemersbach, Linas Hemersbach, Wikbert Hemersbach, and Martin Merlak; and two sisters-ilaw, Lydia Brown and Helen (Ed) Steffen.
