Mr. and Mrs. Emil Noah went to Thorp Saturday afternoon to make the acquaintance of their new granddaughter, Peggy Ann Noah, born to Mr. and Mrs. Verlan Noah of Thorp, January 11. This makes the 21st grandchild for the Noahs.

 

The postponed meeting of St. Ann’s Society of St. Mary’s Catholic Church will be held February 1, at St. Mary’s hall.  Hostesses will be St. Rose’s group, with Mrs. John D. Speich and Mrs. Alfons Hemersbach in charge.

 

Guests last weekend of Mr. and Mrs. Emil Noah were their children and families, Mr. and Mrs. Orville Hoffman and family of Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. Wilton Karlen of Owen, Miss Kathleen Noah of Eau Claire, and Mr. And Mrs. Robert Stark and family.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Don Warner and her brother Lawrence Jackson, spent Sunday in Chetek with the Warner’s’ son, Harold and his family.  They also attended a band concert in Chetek High School Sunday afternoon in which their grandson, Dickie Lee Warner, participated.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Harry Gordee entertained members of their sheepshead club Saturday evening.

 

The Misses Karen Hardigan and Nancy Zepaltus, students at St. Anthony’s School of Nursing, in Chicago, visited last weekend at the home of the latter’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Zepaltus.

 

Sunday visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Roger Liebzeit were his grandmother, Mrs. Clara Liebzeit, Mrs. Clarence Liebzeit and daughters, Diane, Sandra, Debra and Carol.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Jasurda and family visited relatives in Phillips Sunday.

 

Mrs. James Metzke and children, Kevin and Karen, returned Saturday after spending several weeks with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Seif in the Town of Seif.

 

Miss Kathleen Noah returned to Eau Claire Monday afternoon, after a visit last weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Noah.

 

Those from here who were included in the chartered bus trip taken by Homemakers of Clark County to attend the Farm and Home Week in Madison Tuesday were: Mrs. Lawrence Cox, Mrs. John Kaltinger, Mrs. Ray Hoffman, Mrs. John Jasurda, Mrs. I. J. Koschak, Mrs. Val Krainz, Mrs. Wilbur Stewart, Mrs. Kathryn Ivey, Mrs. Alice Perkins, Mrs. Ernest Elmer and Mrs. John Syth. They were guests of Miss Judith Berget, former Clark County Home agent, at her home at a "Coffee hour," while in Madison.

 

 

Mrs. Maud Huntzicker, who spent several weeks in the east, spent the holidays at Falls Church, Va., at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. John Huntzicker and their family.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Stewart visited Sunday afternoon at the Havenett Nursing home in Owen with Mrs. Percy Free, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Vater and Jim Mleziva; and in Withee at the Don Hawks home.

 

Donald Berthold attended a meeting Wednesday evening in Coby.  He was accompanied by his wife and daughter, Gloria, who spent the evening with Mrs. Berthold’s mother, Mrs. Rollin Williams.

 

The birthdays of Mrs. Orlin Fravert and her daughter, Margaret Ann, who was eight, were celebrated Tuesday evening.  Guests were Mrs. Anna Toburen of Minneapolis; Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Awe, Fred, Alice and Mark of Owen; Mr. and Mrs. Erwin Toburen, Mr. and Mrs. Norbert Kuester, Mr. and Mrs. Eldore Humke, Karlene and Daniel, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Albert, Mrs. Arthur Humke and Elmer, Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Fravert, James, Jane, Charlene, Junior, Betty, Vicki and Kathy and also Susan Michalski, who was an overnight guest of Margaret Ann.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Albert entertained Saturday evening in honor of the birthday of their daughter, Miss Joyce Albert.  Those present were Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Fravert and family, Mr. and Mrs. Orlin Fravert and family, Mrs. Olga Reineking, and Mr. and Mrs. Allan Fravert and family.
