Grace Methodist Church Greenwood (WSCS Meeting - 1963)

 

The Women’s Society of Christian Service (WSCS) met Friday afternoon in Grace Methodist Church, with Mrs. Hugh Christie presiding.

 

Mrs. Leon Kuester reported on the meeting held in Grace Church and attended by Sunday school teachers from Withee, Loyal, Christie and Greenwood. The meeting was conducted by Mrs. Betty Ivey of the Christian educational department of Nashville, Tenn. After Mrs. Kuester’s talk the group decided to sponsor a Valentine tea February 14, from 2 to 4 p.m. to which the mothers of Sunday school children all women of the church and others interested are invited.  The committee in charge is Mrs. Robert Bartelt, Mrs. Gene Carlson and Mrs. Kuester.

 

Plans were made to serve the John Wuethrich Creamery Company dinner in the church basement Saturday evening, February 23.  Committees appointed were: kitchen, Mrs. Elery Moberg, Mrs. Truman Hill, Mrs. Viv Carteron, Mrs. Walter Swieso, Mrs. Otto Schwarze and Mrs. John Syth.; dining room, Mrs. Wilbur Stewart, chairman; Mrs. Lloyd Peterson, Mrs. Gene Carlson and Mrs. Frank Thomas.

 

The program entitled, "Lord, teach us to pray," was in charge of Mrs. May Clendenning, assisted by Mrs. Charles Hare, Mrs. Gene Carlson, Mrs. Leon Kuester, Mrs. Truman Hill and Mrs. Wilbur Stewart.

 

Following the meeting, a lunch was served by Mrs. Otto Schwarze, Mrs. Emmett Wallick and Mrs. Allen Wuethrich.

 

The next meeting will be held February 15, with Mrs. Leon Kuester, Mrs. Clifton Fonstad, Mrs. Fred Hohl, Mrs. John Syth, Mrs. Francis Clintsman, Mrs. William Olson and Mrs. Kit Christie in charge.
