Schmidt, Dolores (11 JUNE 1957)

During a ceremony performed by the Rev. Gerald Fisher in St, Anthony’s Catholic Church Tuesday morning June 11 at 10 o’clock, Miss Dolores Marie Schmidt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Schmidt, Loyal, and Andrew Lindner, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Lindner Sr., Loyal, were united in marriage.

A Chantilly lace bodice, fashioned with a Sabrina neckline, pearl and sequin edged, and long pointed sleeves, with a skirt of alternating ruffles of tulle and lace, featuring a lace panel in the back that swept into a small train, made the bride’s dress. Her elbow length veil was secured to a pearl trimmed net cap and she carried a cascade bouquet of white orchids, white carnations, and pink roses, with pink rosebuds attached to the streamers. She also carried a white crystal rosary, a gift of the groom.

The bride chose for her bridal aides, her cousin, Alice Gaden, of Nekoosa, to serve as maid of honor, and the groom’s sister, Carmen Lindner, Loyal, and Arla Krings, Marshfield, to serve as bridesmaids. The three aides wore full-length identical gowns of medium pink crystalette, designed with v-necklines and pleated skirts accented with a large bow at back of waist line. Their pearl choker necklaces and earrings were gifts of the bride. Tiny white mums fashioned their crown-styled headpieces and ivy and white carnations made their cascade bouquets.

Serving as his brother’s best man was Tom Lindner of Loyal. Bon Schmidt, Loyal, a brother of the bride and Harold Schmidt, Milwaukee, cousin of the bride, were groomsmen. Eugene Schmidt, brother of the bride, and Donald Lindner, Greenwood, cousin of the groom, seated the guests.

The bride’s little sister, Charlotte Schmidt, in a gown of white net over taffeta, styled like the bride’s gown, carrying a small bouquet, a miniature replica of the bride’s flowers, with a headdress of white mums, was flower girl, and Patrick Lindner, a nephew of the groom, was ring-bearer.

Corsages of white carnations and pink roses were worn by the mothers of the couple. Mrs. Schmidt wore a blue lace Jacket-dress with white accessories. Mrs. Lindner wore a blue flowered dress, with white accessories, and the bride’s grandmother wore a light blue, two piece dress, also with white accessories.

A dinner and supper were served to 200 guests in the church dining room and a reception was held at the bride’s home. Three prenuptial showers were given the bride with Mrs. Joe Hoeser and Mrs. Earl Holt as hostesses at one; Mrs. Glen Steward as hostess at another; and Mrs. Michael Hughes, Mrs. Eugene Merkel, and Mrs. Vincent Lindner as hostesses at the third.

The bride is a graduate of the Loyal High School and the groom attended Greenwood High School. She has been employed in the office at the Weinbrenner Shoe Factory and the groom has employment with Lindner Brothers, Milwaukee. Upon their return from a western trip the couple will live in Milwaukee. When they left on their honeymoon the new Mrs. Lindner was wearing an avocado linen suit, with orchids from her bouquet pinned to her shoulder.

Attending the nuptial ceremony were guests from Houston, Texas; Duluth, Minn.; Milwaukee, Hales Corner, Wisconsin Rapids, Muskego, Kiel, Sheboygan, Tess Corners, Marshfield, Neillsville, Greenwood, and many from Loyal.
