Tews, Mr. and Mrs. Charles (58^th - 16 February 1963)

Mr. and Mrs. Charles Tews of Rt. 3, Neillsville, celebrated their 58^th wedding anniversary Saturday evening at the Edgar Tews home.  Their farm home is two miles north of Neillsville near Black River, where Mr. Tews does most of his fishing.

Mr. and Mrs. Tews are both active despite their ages, and both are active members of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Neillsville, of which they have been members for many years.

Mr. Tews enjoys fishing and hunting and usually gets a deer every season. He hunts with his two sons, Art and Edgar, both of Neillsville.

Mr. and Mrs. Tews (the former Olga Oelke) were married February 16, 1905, in Green Bay. After residing in Barron County and Oshkosh they moved onto their present farm in 1909.

They are the parents of five children: Arthur and Edgar of Neillsville; Mrs. Donald (Nina) Koss of Milwaukee; Mrs. Wilbert (Velda) Kalsow of Neillsville; and Mrs. Walter (Edna) Beyer of Neillsville who died in 1961.

Those attending the celebration Saturday evening were: Mr. and Mrs. Tews, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Tews and Luann; Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Tews and family; Walter Beyer and children; and Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Marg and family.
