Lauer, Mathew (8 OCT 1875 - 12 JUN 1958)

Funeral services for Math Lauer of Stanley were held Monday morning at 9 o’clock at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Stanley, with Father Edmund Cramer officiating.  Interment was in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Mr. Laure, who died suddenly on Thursday, was born Oct. 8, 1875 in St. John’s Wis., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Math Lauer Sr.  He moved to Stanley with his parents when a small boy.  His father operated a hardware business which he later continued.  His marriage to Mary Steffern took place in Chippewa Falls in 1919.

Surving are one son, Francis of Chandler, Ariz.; four grandchildren; two brothers, Peter of Stanley and Anton of Chippewa Falls.  He was preceded in death by his wife in 1946, his parents, two sisters and three brothers.
