Stevens, Carol (Marriage - 30 March 1963)

United in marriage March 30 were Carol Stevens, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Stevens of Augusta, and Raymond Strangfeld, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Strangfeld of Neillsville.  Rev. Sidney Beavin officiated at the ceremony at the First Methodist Church in Augusta.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a gown of Chantilly lace and silk organza. The bodice was fashioned with long tapered sleeves, and Sabrina neckline accented with seed pearls and sequins. The bouffant skirt was fashioned with a silk organza redingote, with scalloped lace border over a skirt of Chantilly lace.  A jeweled crown held her fingertip veil. Her flowers were pink and red roses, with ivy on a white Bible.

The bride’s sister, Jane Stevens, was maid-of-honor. She was attired in a pale pink chiffon street-length dress, fashioned with scooped neckline and with elbow length puffed sleeves, fitted bodice and bouffant skirt.  An organza petal crown held her blush veil.

Dressed identically was Nancy Stevens, who served as her sister’s bridesmaid.  Both carried crescent bouquets of pink and white carnations.

Edward Strangfeld attended his brother as bestman; Byrl Strangfeld, a cousin, was groomsman.  Kenneth Setzer and Donald Strangfeld seated the guests.

A reception was held in the church parlor following the ceremony.

Showers were given by Mrs. Kenneth Setzer and Nancy Stevens at Augusta; and by Mrs. Edward Strangfeld and Mrs. Dorothy Davis at Neillsville.

Following a wedding trip through the southern states, Mr. and Mrs. Strangfeld will be at home at 3850 N. Port Washington Rd. Milwaukee.
